Verse 1

I offer my respectful obeisances unto the Six Gosvāmīs of Vrndāvana,
krsnotkīrtana-in loudly -ut- chanting and glorifying -kīrtana- of Lord Krsna krsna-,
gāna-in singing [and]
nartana-dancing
parauabsorbed and dedicated. [They are each like]
premāmrtāmbho-nidhīan ocean -ambho-nidhī of the nectar -amrta- of divine love of God prema-.
dhīrādhīra-to both the gentle/sober dhīra- [and] the ruffians/restless -adhīra-
-jana-people
-priyau[they are] dear.
priya-karauBestowing -karau pleasing benefit priya-,
nirmatsaraufree from envy / non-envious,
pūjitauworshipable and honored, [they]
śrī-caitanya-krpā-the mercy -krpā- of Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu śrī-caitanya-
bharaubestow and carry
bhuviunto [this] earth, [and thereby]
bhuvoof the earth bhuvaḥ
bhārāvahantārakauthe burden bhāra- completely remove -avahantārakau.

Verse 2

I offer my respectful obeisances unto the Six Gosvāmīs of Vrndāvana, who
nānā-various / manifold
-śāstrascriptures of revealed wisdom
-vicāranaika-in scrutinizing study and deliberation -vicārana- [became] uniquely eka-
-nipunauexpert and erudite -nipunau,
sad-dharma-the eternal sat- [principles of] religious duties -dharma-,
-saṁsthāpakaufirmly established,
lokānāṁfor [all] humanity
hita-kārinauthe ultimate welfare -hita- working for -kārinau.
tri-bhuvaneThroughout the three tri- worlds -bhuvane
mānyauworthy of reverence, [they]
śaranyākaraurichly provided a reservoir -ākarau of shelter śaranya-,
rādhā-krsna-of Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Krsna
padāravinda-the lotus -aravinda- feet -pada-
bhajanānandena-by the bliss -ānandena of devotional service -bhajana-
mattālikauintoxicated like bumblebees.

Verse 3

I offer my respectful obeisances unto the Six Gosvāmīs of Vrndāvana, who
śrī-gaurāṅga-of [Lord] Śrī Gaurāṅga
-gunānuvarnana-in regular recitation -anuvarnana- of the divine qualities -guna-
-vidhauengaged,
śraddhā-with pure faith
samrddhy-in abundance
anvitaurichly endowed.
pāpottāpa-The agonizing burning distress -uttāpa- [caused by] sins pāpa-,
-nikrntanau[they] eradicated
tanu-[of living beings] in material bodies
bhrtāṁembodied,
govinda-gānāmrtaiḥby means of the nectarean -amrtaiḥ songs -gāna- of Lord Govinda govinda-.
ānandāmbudhi-The ocean -ambudhi- of [transcendental] ecstasy ānanda-
-vardhanaika-in ever-increasing -vardhana- matchlessly -eka-
-nipunauexpert,
kaivalya-from impersonal liberation
-nistārakau[they] delivered them.

Verse 4

I offer my respectful obeisances unto the Six Gosvāmīs of Vrndāvana.
tyaktvāHaving abandoned
tūrnamswiftly
aśesa-mandala-pati-all-powerful aśesa- sovereign rulers -pati- of states -mandala-,
śrenīmaristocratic society / status
sadāforever
tuccha-vatas -vat completely insignificant tuccha-, [and]
bhūtvāhaving become
dīna-ganeśakauthe protectors and saviors -īśakau of the fallen souls dīna-gana-,
karunayāout of compassion [for them, these six Gosvāmīs]
kaupīna-in simple loincloths [and]
kanthāśritauin torn patchwork quilts -kanthā- [externally] clothed themselves -āśritau.
gopī-bhāva-[Internally] in the mood -bhāva- of the gopīs gopī-
rasāmrtābdhi-in the ocean -abdhi- of the nectarean -amrta- mellows -rasa-
laharī-in the gentle waves (and)
kallola-in the surging billows
magnau[they] remained submerged
muhuragain and again muhuḥ.

Verse 5

I offer my respectful obeisances unto the Six Gosvāmīs,
kūjat-[who resided in Vrndāvana, echoing with] singing
kokila-cuckoos
haṁsa-swans
sārasa-cranes,
ganākīrneresounding -ākīrne with flocks -gana- [of these birds],
mayūrākulefilled -ākule with peacocks mayūra- [in Vrndāvana].
nānā-Manifold
ratna-precious jewels
nibaddha-are bound and embedded
mūla-at the roots
vitapa-of the trees
śrī-yukta-in the opulent and divine beauty -śrī- endowed -yukta-
vrndāvaneforest of Vrndāvana. [There, the six Gosvāmīs]
rādhā-krsnamunto Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Krsna
ahar-niśaṁday ahar- [and] night -niśam
prabhajantauwere constantly absorbed in loving service. [I revere them,]
jīvārthadauwho yau imparted -dau the ultimate goal -artha- [of life]
yauunto all living beings jīva-
mudāwith immense joy.

Verse 6

I offer my respectful obeisances unto the Six Gosvāmīs of Vrndāvana, who
saṅkhyā-pūrvaka-accompanied by -pūrvaka- strict numerical count saṅkhyā-
gāna-nāma-in chanting -gāna- the Holy Names nāma-,
natibhiḥand offering prostrated obeisances
kālāvasānī-krtauspent their valuable time.
nidrāhāra-Sleep nidrā-, eating -āhāra-,
vihārakādi-bodily recreation -vihāra- and so on -ādi-
vijitau[they] completely conquered
cātyanta-and ca [yet] extremely ati- supremely -anta-
dīnauhumble and meek
ca yaualso ca who yau [remained],
rādhā-krsna-of Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Krsna
guna-[the divine] transcendental qualities
smrterremembering smrteḥ,
madhurimānandena-by the sweet madhurima- ecstatic bliss -ānandena
sammohitauthoroughly enchanted and spellbound.

Verse 7

I offer my respectful obeisances unto the Six Gosvāmīs of Vrndāvana, who
rādhā-kunda-of Rādhā-kunda [lake]
tateon the bank,
kalinda-tanayā-of [the river] Yamunā (lit. daughter -tanayā- of mount Kalinda kalinda-)
tīreon the shores,
caand also
vaṁśīvatenear the Vaṁśīvata banyan tree
premonmāda-vaśādunder the influence -vaśāt of the madness -unmāda- of pure love of God prema-
aśesa-by endless / boundless
daśayā[ecstatic] symptoms and states
grastau[they were] overwhelmed. [Thus]
pramattaulike intoxicated and maddened men
sadā[they were] always.
gāyantau[They were] loudly singing [as well]
ca kadāat times
harerof Lord Hari
guna-varaṁthe supreme -varam qualities guna-,
bhāvābhibhūtauoverwhelmed -abhibhūtau with [spiritual] devotional emotions bhāva-
mudāin immense delight.

Verse 8

I offer my respectful obeisances unto the Six Gosvāmīs of Vrndāvana.
he rādhe"O Rādhā!
vraja-devīke caO Goddess -devīke of Vraja vraja-,
laliteO Lalitā-sakhī lalite!
he nanda-sūnoO he Son -sūno of Nanda nanda- [Mahārāja],
kutaḥwhere are You? [Are You]
śrī-govardhana-at beautiful Mount Govardhana,
kalpa-[or] desire-yielding
pādapa-trees
taleunder the shade,
kālindī-[or along the bank] of river Yamunā
vanein the forest groves?
kutaḥWhere are You?"
ghosantāv[They were] crying out ghosantau
itiin this manner
sarvato[wandering] everywhere
vraja-purethroughout the holy land of Vraja,
khedairby the pangs of divine separation -khedaiḥ
mahā-greatly
vihvalaudeeply agitated.
